Just the Meat and Potatoes

There are lots of updates and tons of foxtastic things going on. First of all HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!! I know its sad that the summer is over but I was born in October and feel like that is my strongest time of year. I feel comfortable in the warm colors of fall and the cozy clothing where you don't have to layer up too much just yet. You can still be outside and the air smells different and wonderful. I especially love apple picking and pumpkins and the golden glow everything seems to have. Not to mention apple cider and apple cider donuts! I could honestly go on about all the amazing things about fall! On to updates though.

Every budding entrepreneur that doesn't come from money and doesn't have grants, needs a way to fund their business. That usually means working a full time job and working on your own business part time. I had a really great job at the beginning of the summer that was supposed to go until November. It ended 3 months early because the company was for sale and then it sold. The entire month of August I have been unemployed which has made things pretty difficult but I have been able to adapt. I finally got a new job yesterday which should prove to get me out of the red and into the black in about 1- 2 months. I have not stopped working on The Hidden Fox though. The website is up and is being worked on. My wonderful boyfriend has been helping me as much as he can in between the millions of things he has going on in his own life. He is in his third year of college, as an adult going back, so things have slowed due to his school. I am not well versed in website creating so youtube and google have been my best friends throughout this website process. I have also been able to purchase some product and have also created some product myself. I always wanted HF to be a combination of really great finds and products created by HF itself. I will always make sure that whatever we offer you, will speak perfectly about what we represent. We have been trying to put product up on the website but we are having some layout issues with how the content is appearing in the shop. Set backs happen so I'm working on things I can do when I hit a wall.

Every good blog needs pics. I haven't been going out much or even putting makeup on so I haven't really been taking pics or outfits or hair. I hope to fix that for you all very soon. :) Its very hard to balance a facebook page, twitter account, blog, website and linked in account along with your normal life. That stuff plus dishes (no dishwasher,) laundry, 4 pets, car, food, daily hygiene, job...Again, I could go on, is SOOO overwhelming. Its worth it when you have a dream but takes a bit to get under control and in a routine of.

I only remember a short portion of my life being my vein days. Snapping photos of myself and my friends, going to parties and dancing. I am trying to harness that part of me and keep you all updated on whats going on and not just how fabulous I look that day. Haha! I want HF to be about more then JUST the fashion. I want you to know ME like I want to know all of YOU! I  encourage you to tell me about you and about what you would like to see HF become and what it can offer all of you. I promise I will make the product available as soon as we fix the kinks and then WATCH OUT because the Foxes are taking over!

<3 Xoxo,
Mimi

The Final Countdown!

HELLO!
(Not my fav photo but Oh well!)

Ok so now it's time to get down to some details about whats been going on. Long story short we FINALLY have some official Hidden Fox merch on the way! I'm starting out with accessories first and working into clothing. This week I dove into learning Photoshop CS4. Not easy stuff for me as I have close to zero idea what I'm doing. A girls gotta start somewhere! Trying to find free help these days is nearly impossible so what better time to really become self sufficient then NOW?!

I don't want to spoil the merch thats on the way but I will give you a sneak peak at some Custom HF merch. These were graciously created by Dan Auer out of natural wood. Soon you will see what they become :) (If you haven't been following, Dan has helped me develop the brand from day one and also created our logo. WE LOVE HIM! Behind every great man is an even more amazing woman and HF creative developer Cindy Auer! whom we ADORE! TY both!)

There has been so much progress that I could go on forever but that would make this blog SUPER boring. Um...the website should be up and running soon as well. You will only be able to use Paypal to make purchases at first. We still have some details we need in place before we can take credit cards online. We will be able to take credit cards in person so ill be sure and let you know where we will be!

Don't forget that the main reason this brand was created was to say "when you wear HF you are showing people you are making positive steps towards LIFE RIGHTS" Not just human rights or animal rights, Life Rights. We support Kindness, Positive Change and Growth within ourselves and the world around us. We support each other and help one another. We will fight judging those and help those who judge us. BE A FOX! Let out the Hidden Fox in you and show the world the amazing person you are!

Until next time, be good, be safe XOXO,
Mimi.

Ps you can catch me on twitter @Ms_Mimi_Fox and Facebook. Im always here, should you ever need a friend. :) <3

Crunches, Curls and Oreos, OH MY!!

OH BOY, has it been a while since I have posted! Quite a lot has been going on so I will catch you up as best as I can.

Lets first talk about how things are progressing personally. I am almost through all of my dental appointments. Id say about half way. Endoscopy is in March, wisdom teeth removal consult is in April. Still struggling with the leg pain but taking it one day at a time and well...thats about that!

As you may know I have been feeling kind of beat up lately. Especially with all of the health stuff. I decided I was tired of feeling down, having a major lack of energy and motivation and overall crappy. I kept putting myself into "cookie holes." Kinda like a "K" whole but Oreos where my drug. Man I love a good Oreo! Double Stuffed of course! So 2 weeks and 2 packs of Oreos later I made a move. I picked up "Jackie Warners 30 Day Fast Start DVD." BOY does it kick my butt! Im taking it a little slow as of now and trying to focus more on the things I am putting into my body. The more crap you put in the worse you feel is SOOOOO true! I'm telling you, if you want to FEEL results fast, pick it up for less then $10 at your local Walmart. I wont go into giving a full review but feel free to google the snot out of it. Im a big fan of Jackie and her show "Work Out." this is the first full week of workouts for me so I am still at the beginning of this whole thing. I already feel like I have a bit more energy and more strength. Along side the DVD I am also using "My Fitness Pal" to keep track of my daily intake. I am trying not to obsess over it and just use it as a guide. No super human, Hulk strength yes but I notice a change when I left trays at work and my energy when I am awake. Waking up is still VERY hard. WOOT! Beach Booty Here I Come!!! Is anyone else starting a workout program?

I would also like to announce Pedro Rodriguez! He will help us bring HF designs to life! He has wicked amazing graphic design skills and has offered to help us on our journey!!! Please check out his personal line Devils Blood! It may seem like an interesting match but this man is well versed and extremely talented. He has a passion for graphic design like no one else I have encountered! I am THRILLED and OVERJOYED that he has offered to help out HIDDEN FOX!! This also means, MERCH SOON!!!! (for real this time :))

Have you checked out the HF Facebook page lately? It really is a great way to keep up with the day to day influences and up coming excitement! There have been quite a few Fox Sightings lately and a few more to come! Lets get the hype started so we can make some big moves this spring! Let me know of anything going on in your town in 2012 and I will personally look into making HF part of your year!

I'll stop here because I could keep writing forever. I'll spare you and give you a bonus post later. Hahah! Here is a little something to keep you smiling until then. This is a video shared by fellow skulk member Kathy Gibson! Thank You Kathy!!

Happy Foxintine's Day!!!

Well Happy Valentine's Day! If you are interested in a little history lesson on how this day came to be, Click LOVE.

Stand up for love, romance and all the gushy stuff. Most people rebel against this day due to being burned so many times. More then not, people feel its "cool" to rebel against this day. "flowers are stupid and a waste of money" If you read home decorating magazines, they always say fresh flowers bring great energy into a home and you should have them everyday. Isn't it easier to do when someone else buys them for you? ;) Also, I see women all the time on Facebook saying how they had a hard day and are in serious need of chocolate. Well ladies, today is the day for you! Free Chocolate!!! Then there is the card. Sure depending on the card you can end up in a roaring laugh or sobbing your girly eyes out. Bring it on! Last but not least, the possibilities of fine jewelry. Again, ITS FREE!!! What are you complaining about?! Now lets break this down on the mens side of things. I know for years I always felt it was necessary to give them something as well. Men always feel like the women have all the fun with holidays. Surprise your man with HIS favorite candy, a little risky outfit and a fun little gadget he's been wanting. For years I actually gave my sweetheart flowers as well. You wouldn't believe how much men (secretly) like getting flowers!

For the singles... I stated in a previous post, make it about you. I still believe strongly in this. You should always keep your faith in that "happy ending." Do good, think positive and good will come to you, I PROMISE! My cousin is getting together with a bunch of her friends tonight for dinner. Thats what I did last year. Remember the history. Its about standing up for love and believing in it. Your prince or princess will come. Did you read that, I said WILL come. :) Believe!!! Go out tonight and have some fun. Go get that decadent dessert you always keep yourself from. Take that extra long shower or bath. Dance in your undies like no one is watching! Chances are there is someone out there as lonely as you, waiting for the day to meet you so you can begin your love affair. Either way you are NOT alone. Even though I have a partner in crime, I will still be alone tonight and I also have to work and serve food to the happy couples. Hugs*!!!!

To all of you, have an AMAZING and LOVELY DAY!!!
Love,
Your Foxintine Miss Mimi Fox!
XOXO!

Message In A Bottle, Yeah!

I know I haven't written one of these in a bit. By "these" I mean a post written on a personal level. I have felt very drawn over the past couple of days to give you a bit of an update on me. I had felt at times that it would be "unprofessional" to write about such personal matters but HF is all about not being ashamed or worried about being judged. So on that note, here is my update for you...

About 2 months ago I received health insurance for the first time sine 2009ish. I was able to get back on track with treatment for my undiagnosed chronic leg pain. I was also able to get back on track with my dental health. I have hit a few bumps with both of those things but continue to move forward taming pain and improving my sleep as best as I can. Its hard to sleep when you are in pain and its hard to feel great when you are in pain and aren't getting the proper sleep. Throughout this journey I recently hit another snag with my stomach. Working with the different over the counter medications, prescriptions and vitamins, I started to have bleeding or may have been having bleeding (ulcers etc) and just didn't know. Unsure of where the bleeding was coming from or why it was happening, I was sent to the GI doctor. On top of the dentist appointments, dr appointments and oral surgeon, I now have a sweet appointment for a endoscopy.

I tell you all of this because I would like you to know whats going on with the progression of HF. I realize that the 57 people who like the facebook page will be able to say they were with me from the start. I appreciate the crap out of that! However most people wont have any idea about the journey. It has taken me a while to mold this brand and shape it into my version of perfect. It isn't your traditional brand and it follows no normal guidelines. We don't have any clothing yet but I try hard to focus on the message and the community aspects until I can bring you the clothing. Its not about the clothing entirely. Its about the message, what the clothing says and says about YOU! What it says about who we are and what we stand for! I want HF to speak about the reality of life. For example, the struggles a person may face while starting a clothing brand. :) THIS IS REAL! Real life happens and its happening to me. It may also be happening to you.

My message in all of this is really, regardless of the health issues I am facing during this process, I am continuing to work at night in spite of my lack of physical ability, I am moving forward. I schedule a dr or dds appointment, I go to it, I go to work, I come home, I sleep, I work on a new HF design, I take care of my apartment, bills, pets and various responcibilities. I want to throw the towel in some days but instead of burning myself out I hit the "slow motion" button. I just take a little longer doing everything. I really hope to have clothing for you by spring. One day at a time though. I really believe I am going through all of this for a reason. I can handle it. I know I can do this. I AM doing this! :)

Thank you to all of my friends, family, strangers, co workers and beings that have been positive support throughout my journey. Thank you for the love and kindness. Please stay with me and believe in HF. I truly believe with all my heart that this will all help HF become what I know it can. What it WILL be.

Thank YOU!
XOXO,
Miss Mimi Fox

We bout it every day, every day, every day

So it has been a little while since I last posted and a lot of LIFE has happened. Just to give you a quick update, I am currently on the hunt for a new apartment and a new job. It has been quite a challenge but I am excited to see the other end of it. The beginning is always tough but I am on the edge of my seat. I can't WAIT to see what my new home is going to look like!

I sadly dont have much Hidden Fox to update you on. There has been so much LIFE happening that I have had to put HF a side a bit and focus on some other things. Everything is balancing itself back out now and I am shifting gears. I have been put into over drive and have my super hero skin on! This month I will tackle all aspects of my life and come out on top. It will be hard but I WILL make it happen! As I have said before, failure is NOT an option. Success is the only path! So on THAT note, lets pump up the jams and get this party started right! (Throw back reference. Haha!)

Things that keep me motivated!

Cheese and bread will always make me happy. I have never met a cheese I didn't like! Nothing fills you up quite as perfectly. <3
Music has and always will be the soundtrack to my life. I am always listening to music even when I'm in silence. I hear it everywhere all the time and there is always a perfect song to fit your mood!
Love, what can I say? Whether it is from a pet, friend, family member or significant other, LOVE is one of the most powerful energies in existence!

I would also like to say HAPPY FEBRUARY!! Yes we all know Valentines Day is coming. It has gotten a bad wrap for far too long. Lets take a moment and consider something. To all of my single Foxes out there, IT ISNT ONLY FOR COUPLES!!! Last year my friend Brit (from RosMari Brand) and I decided that we would start our own tradition. We get together, get all dolled up, pick a fancy restaurant and have a girls night out. We don't say "F*ck Vday," we make it about us and our friendship. We celebrate love and compassion. You can do this with ANY holiday. Make it about something positive, anything you want! We had a LOT of fun last year! Its one of my fondest memories :) I will try and find some pics from last year for you all. Buy your best friend some flowers and chocolate. Go out and DO something instead of sitting on the couch sad. I have a significant other but they aren't able to be with me on Vday so I make other plans instead of crying and feeling alone. :) Now I look forward to my time with brit!! WINING!

Ill end with this silly photo. When life gets tricky, just put on your hard hat and get to work! :)

OMG Becky Look At Her Butt!

XO Everyone! Lets jump right into it!

Recently this picture was posted to Facebook.

When I saw it I was immediately hurt. Why? Because I look like this...

Defend me all you want or don't but I see some major similarities. I hear a lot that its more socially acceptable to be skinny. I can tell you that in my 27 years that I have never been socially accepted for being under 100lbs my WHOLE life. I was on a ladder one day in a retail store I used to work at and I all of the sudden feel someones hand on my waist assessing its size and I hear "Oh my God, do you ever eat?"In a VERY snobby voice. Why would anyone think any of that was "ok?"

I was only 18 and at work so I replied with a yes and smiled. Is it ok if I walked up to an "above average" person and grabbed their waist and said "Omg, do you ever stop eating?"All of my life people have made me feel like I should be ashamed of being thin. Men turning me down because I am "too skinny." Strangers, and in one case a doctor, thinking I MUST have an eating disorder. If you know me, you know I LOVE food and eat all day long. Yes it stays down. However, most of you don't know me.

People seem to think when you are skinny your life is perfect. WRONG! I can tell you in my personal experience that I have struggled with health problems, acne, clothing not fitting, etc my whole life. I have cried numerous times trying on bras, tops and denim. Not to mention the negative stares and comments I hear as I walk through the mall or a store. I don't feel its necessary to go through everything with all of you. Thats the point. As a person, its not fair to judge someone. People judge me by assuming I don't eat and that is the only possible reason I am thin. Or is it that I don't eat right? Again, my point. I have told you some and nothing at the same time. Is it fair to assume that "celebs" MUST be teaching the world and the young you HAVE to be thin? Is it maybe that celebs are being taught the wrong things? Im sorry but Keira Knightly is actually VERY healthy indicated by her 6 pack abs. Through out history there have always been different shapes and sizes. Nothing has changed, people have just gotten more openly careless with there sexual side. Where the heck is Audrey in that set of photos? She was always very thin!

My last example is this...There is a girl out there who doesn't like me because of my size. She believes my life is perfect and dislikes me for this. She has never said this to me and would be very surprised to find out the truth. Food for thought below with Miss Jenna Marbles...

We should spend more time working on ourselves and being happy in our own lives then bullying others. Let it flow. Please comment below.

Miss Mimi Fox

I have something you may want to see...

I Have a Bonus post for you!

I was doing some doodling last night and I thought I would share it with you! They are some recreations and interpretations of images I found while searching on a few websites.
I had a hard time getting the bodies right. Drawing is tricky. This next sketch was actually drawn first.

Pretty Cute Right?!

I enjoy drawing from time to time. I used to do way more when I was younger. It seems the older you get, the less time you have for the things that really make you feel stellar inside. Unless you are rich and have no need for work.

I am working on incorporating these drawings into more things. Im not totally sure what I mean by that but we will all find out soon enough. Thats kind of the fun of this whole business adventure process!

Thats all for now!

XOXO,
Miss Mimi Fox!

No, the world's not ending. We're just taking it over!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A fox smile heals all!

I really hope everyone has taken some time to re evaluate their situations and created some goals to improve your already awesome life! There is always room for improvement right!?!? This is how I ended 2011.

Its AMAZING lobster mac and cheese from Maestros in Saratoga Springs, NY. There were HUGE chunks of lobster! So good! This was my last mean before 2012 and boy was it perfect! I ended up having to work and got out around 10:30 so I was able to enjoy some of the festivities of our local First Night New Years Celebration.

This was my First Night Badge. You have to wear on in order to get into the awesome events they have each year all over Saratoga. I LOVED the punk cabaret feel to the artwork this year!

I was hoping to have some really sweet tee shirt designs to show you this blog but the friend who is helping me out is still working on them. Patience is key! So soon soon! 2012 is already off to a great start!

QUESTION:
How can we say "It Gets Better" in a different way?

This question was prompted by The organization "It Gets Better," created by Dan Savage. I watched a few of their videos encouraging LBGT teens in middle school and high school to tough out those years because life gets better. I don't believe we should have to TOUGH out those years so how can we turn the fight into a change? (Please Comment Below! :) )

HF has created some Foxtastic goals for 2012. I can't wait to reach every single one and more! (coming soon in our next post!)

XOXO,
Miss Mimi Fox!
