at work...

So I'm here at work and deciding between reading my dmv books for my motorcycle permit or messing around on the internet on my phone...so instead I decided to write a quick blog to get myself back into the groove. I work at a country club at the pool in the snack shack. We serve basic food and other snack and drinks. It's a pretty sweet deal... It's basically the best summer job ever. I'm still working on getting into school and I have a lot to do still.

Ok that's my current update. Talk to you all very soon!

So far, no tornadoes.

Today was an "Almost" day. I almost got a chance to tan, almost got rained out of work, almost made a cap ton of tips, almost had fun, almost got super bored...honestly I could go on for a while but you get the picture...which reminds me. New job means new photos for you guys...which I don't have but will try and remember to take tomorrow. You know how I am. :) anyway, I thought I'd pop in and say hello and let u all know I'm still here and back to loving life. Now that I have my head on and schedule straight you will here from me more frequently.

XOXO,
Mimi!

Quitting time!

So to let you all know, it was a great run but I no longer work at the bakery. Let's just say "it wasn't working out." Hey, when you get stuck in a rut you need to change things to improve your situation. Well I know that when I become "Espy" my evil alter ego, that it's time to make some changes. I did get a new job and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Today will not be the day for that.

I wanted to talk about summer for bit. Yes that's right! We have finally moved out of the cold and into the awesome! though it has been raining like crazy in Upstate NY, I am very excited for summer! I think I have landed a pretty sweet summer job. I am also working on getting my motor cycle license and getting my bicycle in shape for some serious cruising. Its a 3 wheeled adult trike that I got at the end of the season last year so I am super ready to take it out! I took it for a ride to the laundry mat with one of my little boys a few weeks ago. I am planning a trip to the park this week for a few laps. we will see! Pics soon! oh wait I may have one!..nope but ill take ones. I'm trying to secure a front basket, travel tire pump and a water bottle holster before any major trips. The thing about riding my bike around here is that there are always huge hills and my bike doesn't have speeds...so no bueno. BUT, it's an awesome ride! One day I will have a vespa but until then, trike it is!

ok well I downloaded an app on my phone that will hopefully keep me in better communication with you all. Sorry about the laps in time but hey, that is part of the reason changes had to be made!

XOXO,
Mimi!

Like Sands Through The HourGlass, So Are The Days Of Our Lives...

SO I know it has been a long time but so much has happened. Again my life has thrown me a bunch of bones and because bones are hard, they take a bit longer to get through then some other things. What I'm getting at is, my friend of 12 years father died in just 30 days from pancreatic cancer. A week before that a client at my old job as a stylist assistant at a hair salon died suddenly of a heart attack. My job has grown less interesting and more of a burden then anything. You see, working for a small business can be fun but financially it just isn't working out for me. I am looking into how to change that. I'm working on my application for school. It"s not easy at all to write about "whatever." I found that I prefer structure when it comes to writing an essay. I can give you what you want if you tell me but with entrance essays they want to see what you are capable of...the worst part about that is, too much freedom leaves you (at least me) looking at a screen, re reading what you have written and feeling like, "this sucks. I don't even want to read this." My other half said he will help me make it happen but hes currently feeling bummed out by this rainy weather and stressed about money. I know what he means. How is the weather where you are? Money is a horrible thing to be bummed about but I do have to say that my choice to go back to school will be just what i need to cure the money issue. I am not excited about the thought of using student loans to pay my way through school but it seems like all successful people do it. I mean people MUST be OK, right? Do you have student loans? Do you regret the debt or was it the best choice you ever made?

I truly believe that if you want to make your life better, you can. I believe that if you are good to others other will be good to you. If you are only selfish about making sure you take care of yourself in the proper ways and make moves to become a better person everyday, that you can achieve anything and that you will prosper in life. Everyone has the ability to be wealthy in money as well as love and friends. With love and friends you will always have family. When life gets hard you don't throw your hands in the air and give up. you stay positive and keep striving for the tools you need to make it right. With death there is nothing you can do other then accept that's just what the path was. With money problems just keep envisioning the money to fix the issue. Do NOT worry about where the money may come from, just stay positive and the answer will come. any form of doubt will halt a resolution.

I wanted to take a moment to write you this entry for a few reasons. First to apologize for the laps in entries. Second, to create a thought process about life when you may be feeling less then strong. Third, to say that life is a wonderful thing even with all its struggle. I can say with every struggle I have gained strength and wisdom.

I am doing well and finding peace in my forward progression. Though sleep can be hard at times, I know I want amazing things and I will not stop until I have had all of the experiences I desire. Please have a wonderful weekend and feel free to leave comments or questions. :)

Mimi!

Lets Go Crazy

So it got up to 82 degrees today. The summer makes everything better. There is so much more to do, I feel less constricted by my clothes, my pets are happier, it's just amazing! talk about getting spoiled though with today! THIS is my kind of weather. It makes me feel unstoppable. I love it...which makes me rethink my situation. Here is the update...I can't go to the college I want to go to in the fall because I'm...get this...one credit short...UGH! How crappy! Summer classes aren't covered by Financial Aid so I have to wait...CRAP. This DOES however give me the chance to move out of my parents house...but not on the hourly rate I am currently getting. Even though going away to school has been figured out...because I cant go in the fall...I still don't know what to do about moving out...clearly its smarter to stay where its cheaper but emotionally...I feel trapped but the money I'm making at this job will NOT allow an apt by myself...I'm 26, I should be financially stable enough to live on my own. I haven't figured it out yet.

Ok everyone. Its bed time so I have to go. More fun stuff tomorrow and less yuck. It's all part of the game of life! LOL.

NIGHT!

Time Keeps Ticking Ticking.

Yes its been a week...how selfish of me! So sad really! SO  here is what you have missed...
There are some scary people at walmart...they make me do this face. YIKES!
I sent this to my sweet "husband" who's all the way in NYC (3hours from me.) It was my "end of the day, don't forget I love you" pic. Sappy but don't act like you wouldn't do it too!
SOOOOOOOO wanting a Tablet! I have been trying to save money to move out but I can't help wanting certain things. Like a super unnecessary tablet. I could probable get this one for about $100 but my expensive taste wants a flipping Ipad...STUPID INNER DESIRES!!
This bumper sticker is on the back of our delivery van. The guy who drives it constantly destroys the yummy goodies inside because he drives like a maniac. I guess this bumper sticker sums it up. I often feel the same way hahahahha!

Ok, so other then all this lovely stuff...I totally bought more betsy yesterday...I have a problem. I went to Macy's and it was on sale AGAIN! 2 rings, one necklace, one bracelet. about 45 dollars for all 4 items. Freaking steal. So the total on my Betsy collection is...

-9 Necklaces
-6 Bracelets
-4 Rings

Now that I have built up my jewelry, it is 100% time to work on wardrobe and shoes. I have enough winter boot stuff so its time for wedges, flip flops and heels. I certainly need some new tanks. The old ones I have go up on my neck too high...time to cut them up or trash them...hmm, what would L&B do? Its time to clear out things I just don't wear. I always say to myself at the beginning of every season "self, if there are things you didn't wear at the end of this season, you are going to get rid of them." so I have a serious amount of sweaters and hoodies. Maybe a few pants in there. Have you done your spring cleaning yet? We will see how mine goes. I hope Plato's Closet will take SOME of it so I can afford to replace what I get rid of. We will see. Ok, I'm off to start my Sunday chores so I can hit the mall for a few things. LATER!

Hair Raising!

I have had a great day. My Friday night started out awesome because I finally changed my hair! It is on its way to being exactly what I have wanted for quite some time now. See, I have always longed for some seriously awesome Gwen Stafani hair. Ya know, the sweet platinum blond. Well my hair as you know is many different colors so no stylist friend of mine has ever wanted to attempt the task of trying to bring my hair from color disaster to blond. WELL the day finally came! After being blown off by my usual stylist (and long time friend) I stopped by my other friends salon to bring her a cupcake from work. I had been meaning to bring her one so I figured it was time considering I was head out that way anyway. I told her I had been blown off and she offered to give it a whirl! I already bought my own bleach so that's always a plus and a money saver. We ended up not using what i bought THIS time but it will be used as we continue the process...just so you know, GOOD bleach costs about 40 dollars. I don't mess around kids! So, 4 hours, 3-4 processes and 5-6 shampoos later, here it is!

What do we think!? Miss Erin Kelly Durrant is the most amazing friend. I am so grateful and thankful for her. After working such a long day and long week she put in 4 more hours just for me. What a selfless act of kindness! I hope you all have at least one friend like this.
